Home is a documentary by Yann Arthus-Bertrand. It tries to make us take notice of our world, because it’s our home so we have to look after it.

This interesting documentary shows us how the world was with astonishing pictures and how it is now. So when you see it you start to think about it and you realize that we are doing something wrong. We are destroying the planet. So we have to solve this, because it we don’t do it, we will kill Earth. 

The Earth gives us everything, for example the forests to create the air we breathe a simple action and we destroy the forest. This is illogical! It is our fault that the level of the sea is rising and cities are starting to disappear. The animals die because we destroy their habitat and we cut the lifecycle chain.

The video shows that we have to do something because we are destroying our home. It also shows all the problems associated with the climate change and the consequences.

We have to stop it because we are responsible for our home.

In conclusion, I liked watching it because it made me think about all the things that the humans are doing wrong. Also, I want to say that this video has very nice pictures and good music but maybe is too.

Something to improve

Where, for example?

Yes, I'm sure. I think that on of the most important reasons of it is thanks the blog. Because we wrote a lot so I have practiced it.

Writings.

3. Which activities were really USEFUL for you to improve your English? Why? 

When I said before the writings and oral exams. Because with writings I learn a lot of vocabulary and I practice all the grammar. But the harder thing of the blog is think about new topics. And with oral exams because we have to speak in english. 

4. Which activities did you not find useful to learn English? Why not? 

I think that all activities improve your english level.

5. Which activities would like to do again next year to keep on improving your English? 

I like to do more readings and more listenings and also work more vocabulary in class.

Oral presentation

We talked about the problems of teen moms. A big problem of our society so we tryed to make awared the teenegers.
I think that we use a good presentation because it's strutured. We use the "prezi" program and with it you can organize your ideas very well. The strucutre of my presentation I think that it's clear. Body language and eye contact: I think that I did this very bad. Because I saw the peaper a lot because I was very nervous. And I think that is the most thing that I need to improve it a lot.

 I think that we explained you a lot of new information. I think that we choose a good information. And it's the topic of all my presentations that I like more.  I Know that  my pronuntation it isn't correct.

Is it GAP year a good idea? (discuss)

Gap year is a form to know the world and new people during a period for young people. That sounds good, but there are positive and negative sides to this.

On the one hand it’s positive because you know new people from other cultures and of course you know the culture too. Because if you travel to another country such as volunteer or work, this implies know a new culture, new food, new music… from this country. Moreover, if you help people you feel better. So you will pass and incredible and unforgettable period if you do a gap year.

On the other hand it’s negative because you probably miss your family, your friends, your culture… and more if you are very far. In addiction, you maybe don’t like the country that you choose for your gap year.

In conclusion gap year has positive and negative sides, but like all.  We think there are more advantages doing a gap year, because this experience is an invaluable one and you can learn a lot. That's why we would like to take a gap year before we go to the university in the summer.

The animal in me

Swan I might also be a cottontile

Throughout the ages, swans have been venerated for their elegant grace and gentle beauty. So it's little surprise that these personalities attract such admiration as they sail serenely through life. The swan's noble reputation is its greatest asset and it takes care to cultivate its image by always appearing calm in public.

Things are very different just below the surface, for fueling the swan's elegant glide is a high-energy paddling that consumes most of its emotional stamina. While it's common for a bird personality to exhibit this kind of emotional volatility, it is particularly noticeable in the swan when contrasted with its tranquil exterior.

Supporting a high-profile swan persona requires substantial energy, and a high metabolism can leave them feeling exhausted and drained. When life gets overwhelming, they will take off and find a tranquil, gentle place to meditate and recharge before returning to the real world. This unsettled aspect of their personality means that a swan has probably moved to a different city at least once its life, or is at least planning to do so.

Appearance is important to the swan who enjoys the finer things in life and it spares no expense in pampering itself. It would be a mistake to simply dismiss it as a fragile beauty though; for it is a well traveled, worldly bird who has seen the best and worst of the human condition. Its experiences have made it a well-rounded and worldly individual who can adapt to almost any career. It has no problem with taking direction from a boss and is always prepared to accept input from others.

Its work is well integrated into its life and it strives to find balance in its career and family life. Because swan personalities are often gangly and awkward as children, they have substantial experience in dealing with difficult people and are well equipped to handle conflicts in the workplace. Their innate empathy makes them ideal therapists, doctors, nurses or personnel managers. With their natural beauty they are also well suited for careers in the arts, with a particular affinity for music, ballet and acting. 

Cottontail personalities are small, gentle individuals with a tendency towards shyness and whose instinct is to run at the first sign of danger. Their extraordinarily acute senses are well-developed and always on the lookout for any impending peril.

Cottontails are astoundingly cute and rely heavily on their soft personalities and vulnerable appearance to succeed.

Although they are bright, cottontails often hide their intelligence when it interferes with their primary method of survival: cuteness! Almost all mammal personalities find them to be irresistibly attractive and they rarely need to employ their personal resources to succeed in their careers or relationships.

Their quiet, solitary behavior is often mistaken for timidness, but cottontails are actually quite aggressive in their search for resources.

Because they lack the physical strength of larger animal personalities, they must rely on their social skills to compete in the workplace.

Cottontails function best in situations that don't involve confrontations, which means they are not natural salespeople, but their ability to work with others means they are well-suited for careers in customer support, diplomacy, administrative work and nursing.

I agree quite a lot with these results .I think that I'm a blend of both so, I put the two results.The most likenes with a swan is that I have innate empathy so maybe I would be a therapists. Also I'm like cottontail because I'm small, my senses are well-developed and always on the lookout for any impending peril. I'm also friendly,warm, and understanding. We have a lot of similars things and this surprises me, because with a little test they guess right our mutal charateristics.
All in all maybe the page should do more questions to specify more.  

Au paire in USA (GAP YEAR)

I really don't want to do this because I don't like traval alone. But maybe this option for me is the best.

I like babies and last summer I worked in a summer camp and I like it, so I think that I want to work with babies. Also it's a good option becasue with it I can improve my english a lot.

The most  probable is that I would get used to it after one week. It would take time because I'm not very independent.

And if I will
work with babies I think it will be easier , they speak more slouly than adults.

An other avantage to this travel is that I will be more sociable. Because you need to speak with new peope and you meet new friends.

I think that when I will arrive I will learn quikly becase you don't have any other options.

I would be worried because maybe I will have dificult babies or the famil are strange or unkind.  So I will have a lot of prolems. Also, I think that it is more probable  is that I will not like the food. Because I'm very special about food. I'm accustumed to the Mediterranean diet. I think that I will strave. I can't eat a sandwich without tomato or oil also I can't eat a sandiwich with butter this will be horrible. I can't eat sandwich everyday I need my pasta, my sandwich with tomato and meat with cheese. I can't eat a frankfurt or hamburger form McDonald's.  I have tried but I can't eat it. It's probably because when I was a child my mother did not let us eat McDonald's . And I don't like this because it is her fault I can't eat it.

Maybe with this trvel I will learn to eat these things.

I would like to do this travel when I finish university. Because I think that if  I do his travel when I finish A levels it's probable that I breack the study routine.

Discussion

We humans always have the curiosity to investigate, discovering new things, experiment, but are they really worth experiments on humans?Well, I think that everything has a limit. We can see it in the story of Frankenstein. For example we can see it when Victor creates the terrible monster.Before creating something you have to think about the consequence this will mean- that you will create something terrible, first you have to be sure.If you can control perfect, do it. However if you can't control it, don't do it. In the book Victor created a monster, but he didn't think about the consequences. And after he wanted to kill it.Another thing is that if you never do something because you are afraid for what will happen is also terrible. Humans make a lot of errors, if you never try you will never know that this experiment will be correct or incorrect.Everything has a limit, so be careful. You have to control you, you can't create a monster because you want it. Before creating it, first think.All in all I want to say that if you try something be careful about consequences, because all the  things that you do have a consequence.

Mrs. Pintó,

I am writing to tell you what I think about INS Castelló d'Empúries. It is true that we live in hards moment but in my opinion we can imporve something.
For exemple, in the 1Bat B we need more space so I think taht we can do some class in the diningroom. Because diningroom is undersused.
Also we can improve in the Ins is back to blackboards. Because the digital bord, dor me, is anecessary. Maybe with it we are more modern but we spend a lot of time.
If it is possible I think that interesting optative will be German. So I belive that it is a good idea. Now in Spain there isn't work so If we learn a other lenguage will be more easy find a good job.
Finally, I want to say congratulations because I think that this high.school is a very good high-school.

My clothes and me

Now, I wanted to explain you a little about my style. I don't have only one style . maybe I think that it's casual, and for me, confortable clothes, but in the same time pretty.

I usually wear slim jeans, with a sweater or shirt and sometimes combined with a belt or scraf. If I go to high-school I usually wear tail hair or straight hair. I always wear the same earring, a pearl earrings. Because I think that it combines with all and also because it's a gift from a important frienf. Furthermore I never take my  necklace because it's very special for me.

Respect the shoes I usually wear a basics boots or my favorites trainers or ballet shoes.

My favorite accessory is my black bag. I love it . It's my treasure.

I like watch faishon webs because I see sets really interestings. and my favorite faishon web is "trendencias".

Penny's wish (Fairy tale)

Once upon a time an ordinary girl lived in Manhattan, her name was Penny and she went to high school in the morning and in the afternoon she worked in Mc Lauren’s café because her parents didn’t have enough money to pay for the university. She was 17 years old and she lived with her parents. She thought that her life was very unfortunate because she wasn’t popular and she had freak friends. In high school she was invisible because nobody knew her except her two best friends, Lily and Jimmy. Penny was in love with a popular boy, Barney but he didn’t know anything about her. 

One day when she was working in Mc Lauren’s café she received a Whats App, she read the message: “If you send this message to three people you can ask for a wish” but she didn’t pay attention so she continued working. When she was returning back home she thought that maybe she should send the message to try it. Before she went to sleep she sent the Whats App and then she asked for a wish: “To be popular and go out with Barney”.

The next day when she woke up and she got dressed her looks were changed.  Then she arrived in the high school and she was in shock because everybody greeted and looked at her. Later she became a football cheerleader and she met some popular friends. In a football team there was a captain who was Barney. They invited her to a party and that night she went to the feast, there she talked with Barney and they fell in love. The next days they met and did a lot of things so Barney asked her if she wanted go out with him and Penny accepted. Her wish was fulfilled. While she was more popular, her old friends were more distant and she missed them. She didn’t feel comfortable with her new friends. Although this was her dream she didn’t like her new life, but she didn’t do anything to change.

The final dance arrived (18^th of June) and everybody was worried about the dress. But Jimmy was worried about how he told Penny that he was fell in love her. On 18^th of June the party started and everybody wore beautiful dresses. The nominated queen of the party were Penny and other popular girls. Penny and Barney were dancing when Jimmy approached them. Barney asked him: “Where is your partner?” and Jimmy answered: “I don’t have any”, “Why?” asked Barney, “Because I lost my opportunity” said Jimmy and Barney said “I fight for her”. Jimmy saw Penny and said “Sorry about this but I need to say that I love you”. Immediately Barney hit Jimmy and they fought, Penny started to cry and tried to separate them but Barney pushed her. She was crying a lot and she said to Jimmy “Why didn’t you tell me it before? I love you too” Jimmy said “Now it’s too late” and he left. 

When the party end Penny went to home and she tried to restart the Whats App because she wanted the other life. She went to sleep and next day when she woke up the clothes and the other things were as before.

Morale: Be careful with your wishes because isn’t always what you expect.

Adrian Mole and Thirteen

The adolescence’s a really difficult stage to live because there are so many problems.Tracy and Adrian are the same age and have a lot of problems with their families.

In Adrian Mole’s book we can read that Adrian’s best friend is who fails him but in the film we can see the opposite situation, where Tracy fails her best friend, but she can't so anything for to save her.

I want to say that I don't remember very well the book. but in the film Evie’s is who really shows to Tracy the bad ways to change. And for Evie, Tracy started to use some drugs and cut herself. And I think that in the book the drugs didn't appear.

In my opinion I like more the movie because in her you can see that there are a lot of people living hard situation. And I like more the charecters of the movie. But I think that the problems start at fifteen and not at thirteen.

Dear Sonia

I’m just writing to introduce myself. My name’s Marina Colomer and I’m 16 years old. I live in Castelló d’Empúries( in the north- east of Catalonia) . I’m a student at INS Castelló d’Empúries in the same village. I’m studying for my certificate and if it’s possible past with a very good marks. However I think that it’s very difficult to do it.

Something about me: I’m short, thin and cheerful. I have brown hair but some persons think that I have blonde hair. I have green eyes and freckles. My favorite film is “The notebook”.

At school I’m studying Catalan, Spanish and English but last year I studied French so I speak Catalan, Spanish, a little be of English and French.  My favorite’s subjects are mathematic, economy and contemporary world science. Now, I’m doing batxillerat social but I don’t know what I want to be when I grow up.

When I’m not at school I practice classical ballet, I  study in order to pass the level intermediate, rowing and sometimes I’m going run because for doing rowing I need to getting fit.  Also every day I do my homework. The short time that I have it I spend with my friends or my boyfriend.

 Anyway, this is a piece about my life. I hope that you like my message.

Friendship

This song (Count on me) explain very well what is the friendship. I have very friends, one of these is Lluna. A true friend is for all life and I think that is more important than love. Now, I'm Going to talk about Lluna because this year she leaves for study in Olot. She knows that I'll miss her. She is one of the most important people in my life.With a very little time she has become  one of my best friends. We say that we are twins . she'll always have mt shoulder when she crys, I'll never let go. She always helps me when I have problems I can count on you like, four, three, two. She knows thaht she can counts on me like, one , two three i'll be there.  Although she is away  I call you every day. If you ever find yourself lost in the darck and you can't see I'll be the light to guide you.  For much distance there I will always love you because that's what friends are supose to do.

Romeo and Juliet: Book vs film

There are many differences between the film and the book. We read the book and after the film. Some diferences are:

- Is that the film is shot in Miami and in the book the story is in Verona.

- In the film they wear modern clothes and in the book medieval clothes.

- In the film they fight with guns and in the book with swords.

- Evrithing is much actual in the film.

- On the film we can see a hippy man( Friar) and in the book the friar was an old and religious man.

Probably there are some other differences but I don’t remember all. Definitely I prefer the book than the film.

Interview

We interviwed  three couples. Now, I explain the interview with only one couple . They were from  France and England. The woman is an English person but his husband is a French  person. They live in France . They come Figueres for a day. Usually they come to Spain. They visited a lot of places for exemple: Madrid, Granada, Cordova... They think that the best place in Spain is Madird. They don't speak catalan or spanish but they think that catalans speak a good english. And the catalans/spanish are frendly . They like the spanish/catalan food.They don't buy souvenirs. After interview they were going to Dali's museum.

I like to do this excursion because we can talk with the turist and we can practise our english. This experience was great.:)
